SUBJECT:

Appointments to the Building Related and Fire Codes Appeals Advisory Board - 1 Primary Member and 1 Alternate Member

 

 

SUMMARY:

 

An Ordinance appointing Betty Lagred (Primary) and Max Hosford (Alternate) to Building-Related and Fire Codes Appeals Advisory Board (Commercial Building Owner, Manager Category) for the remainder of unexpired terms of office to expire May 31, 2019; and waiving the City Code residency requirement in Chapter 2, Article IX, Sec. 2-529(B) for this appointment.

 

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The Comprehensive Plan City Council Committee convened on February 21, 2018 to review applications and recommend 1 Primary Member and 1 Alternate Member to the full Council for appointment to the Building-Related and Fire Codes Appeals Advisory Board.  Said applicants are nominated by Industry Associations and the terms of office are for the remainder of unexpired terms of office to expire May 31, 2019.  As the Applicants are not residents of the City of San Antonio, they will require a waiver for appointment.

 

ISSUE:

Board appointments require City Council approval.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no fiscal impact.

 

RECOMMENDATION:

In order to proceed with the direction of the City Council, the Office of the City Clerk recommends approval of the Board Appointments.
