SUBJECT:

Consideration of Applicants to the Zoning Board of Adjustment At-Large Alternate Category (6 Slots)

 

SUMMARY:

 

The Governance City Council Committee will review and recommend six applicants to the full Council for the At-Large Alternate positions to the Zoning Board of Adjustment (ZBOA).  The recommendations for appointment are for the remainder of unexpired terms of office to expire May 31, 2019.  Below is a list of eligible applicants:

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

Six (6) Alternates are appointed At-Large for two-year terms to the ZBOA.  The ZBOA is comprised of 11 District Appointees by the Mayor and each City Councilmember.  Members receive $20.00 per meeting. The Board hears variances and appeals related to the enforcement of Chapter 28, Signs and Billboards, and Chapter 35, the Unified Development Code (UDC).

 

ISSUE:

Alternate appointments require full City Council approval.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no fiscal impact.

 

RECOMMENDATION:

The Office of the City Clerk recommends forwarding the selected Alternates by the Council Committee to the full City Council for consideration on May 31, 2018.
