Contract Award: Consultant Engineering Firms to Provide Support for Storm Water Regional Master Plan
SUMMARY:
An ordinance authorizing the negotiation and execution of three professional services contracts for Civil Engineering Services to provide support for the Storm Water Regional Master Plan project in a total amount not-to-exceed $497,915.00; the negotiation and execution of agreements with Klotz Associates, Inc. dba RPS Klotz Associates for $165,300.00, Brown & Gay Engineers, Inc. for $165,995.00, and Slay Engineering Company, Inc. for $166,620.00.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Project Background
The purpose of the Consultant Engineering Firms to Provide Support for Storm Water Regional Master Plan project is to provide support to City of San Antonio staff in the development of potential drainage planning studies. The potential drainage planning studies will provide preliminary designs and costs for projects addressing drainage issues of streets, properties, and structures throughout the City of San Antonio.
The Consultant Engineering Firms to Provide Support for Storm Water Regional Master Plan project is anticipated to begin June 2018 and estimated to be completed by September 30, 2018.
Procurement of Services
During the May 31, 2017 City Council "B" Session, TCI briefed City Council on the City's 2017 Bond program implementation strategy. The briefing included information on the mass selection of design consultants which the City has successfully used for both the 2007 and the 2012 Bond Programs.
On May 9, 2017, three (3) Requests for Qualifications (RFQs) were released to seek professional design services in connection with the 2017 Bond Program, specifically: 1) Civil Engineering, 2) Architecture and 3) Landscape Architecture.
