Strategic Planning Work Session
SUMMARY:
This item allows for a Board Strategic Planning Work Session.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The Board convened in January 2018 to conduct a strategic planning retreat and plan for the upcoming year. Discussion included plans for staff to provide regular updates to the Board and opportunities for input.
The Board received a follow-up presentation summarizing activities and next steps during the February 6, 2018 meeting. This included an overview of the retreat, goals for the next three years, summary of identified “big promises” to guide the strategic plan, summary of other activities, and next steps moving forward. Next steps included compiling this information into a single strategic plan, identifying deliverables, aligning with Board Members on a call to action, and providing regular updates to the Board of Directors.
ISSUE:
In recent meetings, the Board has received updates through the CEO Update. This item allows for a review and in-depth discussion of the strategic plan document, as well as deliverables and next steps. The Board has inquired about the connection of various Board items to the strategic plan. The purpose of this item is to help firmly ground future decisions in this guiding document. Additionally, this item will identify the timeline for future Board updates related to strategic planning.
