SUBJECT:

Joint Use Agreement with Lynxs Group at the San Antonio International Airport

SUMMARY:

This Ordinance authorizes a joint use agreement with Lynxs Group LLC (Lynxs) to allow the firm access to airport property so fiber lines can be installed and maintained on their property. The term of the agreement is through July 31, 2024 and there are no costs to the city.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

In 2018, Lynxs approached the city about installing fiber lines on their property located at 10315 Wetmore Road adjacent to the San Antonio International Airport which would require access to airport-owned property. The joint use agreement will allow the firm and their contractors and subcontractors to access airport property in order to install and maintain fiber lines. The Lynxs property is located east of the airport on private property outside of the security fence. Lynxs contractors will need to access airport property that is outside of the secured, and the contractors will not be able to access any secured area.

Lynxs and their representatives are responsible for the procurement, installation and maintenance of the fiber lines. They will also adhere to all safety standards as well as all federal, state or local regulations.

The agreement will expire on July 31, 2024.
