FY 2019 and FY 2020 Human and Workforce Development Services Consolidated Funding Process Public Hearing
SUMMARY:
The City Council will hold the first of two public hearings on the FY 2019 and FY 2020 Human and Workforce Development Services Consolidated Funding Process on August 29, 2018.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The Department of Human Services released a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Human and Workforce Development Services for FY 2019 and FY 2020 on April 26, 2018. The RFP closed on May 29, 2018. The City received 123 proposals from 71 organizations with total requested funding in the amount of $25,718,736.
Delegate Agencies were notified of staff funding recommendations on August 9, 2018. The recommended funding allocations are included in the FY 2019 proposed budget document posted on the City's website. The Department of Human Services briefed the City Council on these allocations at the Budget Work Session on Tuesday, August 21, 2018. City Council is scheduled to approve delegate agency funding awards on September 13, 2018 as part of the adoption of the FY 2019 Budget.
ISSUE:
The City is holding two public hearings on August 29, 2018 and September 5, 2018. Following conclusion of citizen comments on the FY 2019 Proposed Budget, agency applicants will be provided with an opportunity to speak to their proposals. Representatives from each of organizations who submitted a proposal have been invited to present on their applications and scheduled for one of the two public hearing dates. Agency representatives whose agencies names begin with the letter A through J are scheduled for August 29 and letters K to Z are scheduled for September 5.
