VHS San Antonio Imaging Partners L.P. dba Baptist M&S Imaging
SUMMARY:
This ordinance authorizes a professional services agreement with VHS San Antonio Imaging Partners L.P. dba Baptist M&S Imaging to provide chest x-rays for the San Antonio Fire Department Wellness Center for an estimated annual cost not to exceed $60,000.00. Funding for this contract is available in the FY 2019 General Fund Adopted Budget, and funding for subsequent fiscal years is subject to appropriation of funds.
The term of the contract shall commence January 1, 2019 and shall continue through December 31, 2021 with up to two (2) one year extensions.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The FY 2010 budget approved the creation of a San Antonio Fire Department (SAFD) Wellness Program to monitor the health and wellness of its uniformed employees throughout their careers. This program was designed to provide early detection of serious medical conditions and encourage better health, thereby allowing our members to do their job more safely and effectively. The program was modeled after the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF)/International Association Fire Chiefs (IAFC) Wellness-Fitness Initiative (WFI) and in accordance with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standards. The SAFD Wellness program requires that Firefighters receive a chest x-ray every five (5) years in an effort to detect chest abnormalities that develop during the course of their career.
A Request for Proposal was issued July 27, 2018 and closed August 27, 2018. One (1) proposal was submitted from VHS San Antonio Imaging Partners L.P. dba Baptist M&S Imaging. The evaluation committee was composed of representatives for the San Antonio Fire Department and the University of Texas at San Antonio Health Science Center.
