LOCATION:
This project is located within central and northern San Antonio; within the city limits. The SAWS CWIP-Bitters, Maltsberger, Pipeline Segment 5-3 and PRV's 2-3 project comprises several properties in the vicinity of West Avenue and W. Bitters Road, as well as along the Jones Maltsberger corridor from just north of Northern Boulevard southward to just south of Sunset Avenue in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas.

The project includes construction of improvements at several locations. The Bitters Pump Station will receive a new water storage tank, new 30 million gallon per day pump station, new yard piping and control valves, all to occur on SAWS owned property. The Maltsberger Pump Station will receive a full electrical and water storage tank rehabilitation along with new yard piping and control valve, all to occur on SAWS owned property as well. Two new pressure reducing valves (PRVs) will be constructed on yet to be obtained utility easements. Additionally, a new water distribution pipeline, Segment 5-3, is to be constructed. Much of the pipeline will be installed by trenching within previously developed and/or paved areas. The total project area is 15.1455 acres. The Applicant has requested to participate in the SEP-HCP to mitigate impacts to the SEP-HCP Covered Species from construction activities. The draft mitigation determination detailing the project is attached and a summary of the mitigation needs is included below.
