SUBJECT:

 

Salary adjustments for certain City Council Appointees

 

 

SUMMARY:

 

This item establishes specific pay adjustments for the City Auditor, the City Clerk and the Presiding Judge.

 

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

 

Appropriations for anticipated pay adjustments for City Council Appointees including the City Auditor, the City Clerk, and the Presiding Judge were included in the FY 2019 Budget Ordinance.  Pursuant to the City Council 2018 performance review process, City Council now wishes to provide for the following:

 

A 4% pay adjustment to the salary of the City Auditor for the 2019 calendar year;

 

A 3% pay adjustment to the salary of the City Clerk for the 2019 calendar year; and

 

A 4% pay adjustment to the salary of the Presiding Judge for the 2019 calendar year

 

This item provides for those pay adjustments.

 

 

ISSUE:

 

City Council sets salaries and benefits for City Council Appointees by ordinance.

 

 

ALTERNATIVES:

 

City Council has discussed alternatives and finds it appropriate to provide these performance pay adjustments.

 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

 

Funds are included in the FY 2019 General Fund Adopted Budget for Performance Pay salary adjustments.
