Analysis of the projected one million population increase that is the foundational basis for the City’s SA Tomorrow Comprehensive Planning process.

 SUMMARY:

Analysis of the projected one million population increase that is the foundational basis for the City’s SA Tomorrow Comprehensive Planning process.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The Comprehensive Plan Committee is interested in the crucial policy implications regarding housing, job creation, work force development, small business, educational needs, transportation, social and health services and infrastructure that must be considered in our planning.

This is especially important given the projection that a major portion of the new residents will be from local births and not necessarily new residents coming from other areas.

It is important that our policies are grounded in a clear understanding of the demographics of our projected growth. This is needed so that not only economic growth but social and cultural values are also respectfully considered in all policy decisions.
