May 4, 2019 General Election
SUMMARY:
An Ordinance Canvassing the Official Results of the General Election held on Saturday, May 4, 2019; and establishing Early Voting and Election Day polling locations for the Run-off Election scheduled for Saturday, June 8, 2019.
The Drawing for Placement on the Saturday, June 8, 2019 Run-off Election Ballot will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Thursday, May 9, 2019 in the Office of the City Clerk. Canvassing of the Official Run-off Election Results will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 2:00 pm in Council Chambers.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
On Saturday, May 4, 2019, the City of San Antonio held the City’s General Election. Said election was ordered on January 10, 2019.
ISSUE:
The City Council as the Canvassing Authority will canvass and accept the Official Election Results for the Saturday, May 4, 2019 General Election.
ALTERNATIVES:
None.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No fiscal impact is associated with Canvassing of the Election Results. Funds for a Run-off Election, if applicable, are budgeted in the Municipal Elections Budget managed by the City Clerk.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this Ordinance.
