This item includes a briefing of program and operational activities.

 

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

 

The CEO Update will provide information on various program activities.

                     Student Enrollment - 511 student applications for the 2019-2020 school year are fully completed.

                     The Dee Howard Foundation Partnership - Pre-K 4 SA is developing a new partnership with The Dee Howard Foundation to implement aeronautical science curriculum.

                     Professional Development Summer Opportunities - Pre-K 4 SA Professional Learning Department is preparing for summer opportunities for Pre-K 4 SA and San Antonio educators.

                     City Auditor Results for Food Service Program - The City Auditor’s office completed an audit of the Food Services Contract on April 24, 2019 and found effective controls are in place to ensure the San Antonio Food Bank contract with Pre-K 4 SA is adequately managed.

                     Competitive Grants - Competitive Grants is moving forward with evaluations of grant awardees to make determinations for renewed agencies for the 2019-20 school year, and working with child development centers accepted into the Continuous Quality Improvement Cohort.

                     Gracias Art Exhibit Debrief - The art exhibit raised over $4,000 for Child Safe.

                     Promotion and Outreach Opportunities - Pre-K 4 SA continues to participate in ongoing promotion and outreach.

                     Shared Services Pilot Program - Pre-K 4 SA was selected as one of two cities to participate in a pilot program providing shared services to child development centers.
