BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

Project Background
Under the voter approved 2017-2022 Bond Program, $187.313 million was allocated for Parks, Recreation and Open Space Improvements. As part of the Bond Program, funds in the total amount of $1,000,000.00 was approved for improvements to Benavides, Collins Garden, Kennedy and Vidaurri Parks located within District 5.

Results of the surveys revealed consensus amongst the District 5 community to include the construction of a splash pad for Benavides Park. Project construction is anticipated to begin June 2019 and estimated to be completed in November 2019.
