Contract Award: Professional Services Agreement to provide Engineering Services for the South Gevers Street Drainage Improvement Project


SUMMARY:

An ordinance authorizing the execution of a Professional Service Agreement with HDR Engineering, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $1,072,373.53 for services related to a Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) and Plans, Specifications and Estimate (PS&E) for the South Gevers Street Drainage Improvement Project, a Storm Water Revenue Bond Project, located in Council District 3. Funds are available from the Storm Water Operating Fund and other debt proceeds included in the 2019-2024 Capital Improvement Budget.


BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

Project Background
The community surrounding the South Gevers Street from Steves Avenue to Fair Avenue area has been reporting street and structural flooding issues for many years. Alleviating these issues will require a combination of street reconstruction, underground storm drains and possibly detention basins. Council District 3 acquired funding for the project as an amendment to the FY 2019 Budget.

HDR Engineering, Inc. will provide analysis of drainage issues along South Gevers Street and the surrounding area proposing alternative improvements at each identified problem area and producing plans, specifications and cost estimates for the selected improvements for the South Gevers Street Drainage Improvement Project. These engineering services are anticipated to begin in July 2019 and are estimated to be completed by July 2020.

Procurement of Services
