SUBJECT:
June 8, 2019 Run-Off Election for City Council Districts 2, 4, 6, and Mayor
SUMMARY:
An Ordinance Canvassing the Official Results of the Run-Off Election held on Saturday, June 8, 2019 for City Council Districts 2, 4, 6, and Mayor.
Upon adoption of the Ordinance declaring the Official Results for said Places; Elected Officials will be administered/presented with the following:
• Certificates of Elections
• Statements of Elected Officer
• Oaths of Office
• Drawing for 2019-2021 Mayor Pro Tem terms
A Certified Copy of Ordinance adopting the Mayoral Election Results will be provided to the Judicial Council to satisfy required filing requirements by the Government Code. Elected Officials take office immediately.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
On Saturday, June 8, 2019, the City of San Antonio scheduled the Run-Off Election for City Council Districts 2, 4, 6, and Mayor. Said Election was ordered on January 10, 2019.
ISSUE:
The City Council as the Canvassing Authority will canvass the Unofficial Election Results for the Saturday, June 8, 2019 Run-Off Election.
ALTERNATIVES:
None.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No fiscal impact is associated with Canvassing of the Run-Off Election Results.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this Ordinance.
