SUBJECT: Pre-Solicitation Briefing for an RFI to Identify Food and Vending Concepts for City Tower

Staff will present a pre-solicitation briefing on a Request for Information (RFI) related to dining, catering, vending, and activation opportunities for the City's new consolidated office building (the old Frost Tower). This project was not presented in the Annual High Profile Report. This briefing will allow an opportunity for input from Committee members.

This pre-solicitation briefing will cover the scope, projected timeline, and process related to the RFI. The City is in the process of renovating the 486,380 sq ft former Frost Tower building and will consolidate approximately 1,400 employees within the building, which will also accommodate significant space for external tenants. Creating convenient, healthy, and affordable dining options for employees and tenants of the building is a goal of the Frost Tower renovation project. There are multiple spaces within the office building that are good opportunities for food service and vending opportunities. There is also a desire to activate the broad sidewalk along Houston Street, and the City hopes to see creative concepts through this RFI that will accomplish that. In addition, the Plaza Club recently announced that they will relocate from the building in spring 2020, creating a significant opportunity for restaurant and event space, which will be a component of this RFI.
