SUMMARY:
Presentation on the Affordable Housing Dashboard
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Staff has developed a draft Affordable Housing Dashboard in collaboration with the Information Technology Services Department and requests the Housing Commissions’ initial feedback.
The Mayor’s Housing Policy Task Force recommended the creation of an online accountability dashboard. The goal is to create an accessible, visual report card of San Antonio’s affordable housing inventory that is mapped, searchable by provider, housing type, funding mechanisms, and other criteria. Users would be able to see the outputs of various state and local programs by council district, including a forecasted number of units to be created or preserved.
Staff has collected data from City programs impacting housing creation and preservation, Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA), and the San Antonio Housing Trust. Staff has begun to collect data from housing providers in the coordinated housing system to supplement our existing database.
