SUBJECT: Consideration of Applicants to the Municipal Golf Association San Antonio (MGASA) Board of Directors (6 Slots)
SUMMARY:
The Community, Health, and Equity City Council Committee will recommend six (6) individuals for appointment to the Municipal Golf Association San Antonio (MGASA) Board of Directors. One (1) slot is vacant due to the resignation of Gabriel D. Farias. Michelle Pair was selected by the MGASA Board of Directors and is no longer a City of San Antonio Appointee. The terms of office have expired and the remaining four (4) City of San Antonio Appointees are currently serving in holdover status and eligible for consideration. BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The MGASA Board of Directors consists of fifteen (15) members, seven (7) selected by MGASA, six (6) appointed by the City Council and two (2) ex-officio voting members appointed by the City Manager (Homer Garcia III and Melanie Keeton). Terms are for two (2) years with no term limitations. The recommended appointments will serve for the remainder of unexpired terms of office to expire May 2, 2021.
ISSUE:
Board appointments require full City Council approval.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact.
RECOMMENDATION:
The Office of the City Clerk recommends approval of the Council Committee’s recommendation for six (6) appointments to the MGASA Board of Directors. The recommended appointments will be submitted to the full City Council at the next available City Council Meeting for approval.
