SUMMARY:
Presentation on the Annual Report.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
This annual housing report establishes a systematic review of the annual production, preservation, and rehabilitation of affordable housing as well as services for residents facing affordability and displacement challenges across the city. The report is a recommendation in San Antonio’s Housing Policy Framework to ensure transparency and accountability.
The report summarizes the current status of San Antonio housing through fact sheets and analytical illustrations of housing market, demographics, household, and tenure status. This is followed by highlighting housing needs through a review of the history of existing affordability programs, a discussion of allocated general funds in FY19, and the sequential increase in housing and services delivered based on that increase. The final sections cover new initiatives and partnerships such as the department’s CivTech project and the Coordinated Housing System, a network of housing providers, services providers and other community partners.
