At-Large Appointment to the VIA Metropolitan Transit Authority Board of Trustees (1 Slot)
SUMMARY:
Appointing Athalie D. Malone to the VIA Metropolitan Transit Authority Board of Trustees for the remainder of an unexpired term of office to expire December 31, 2019.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The Governance City Council Committee convened on August 28, 2019 and recommended Athalie D. Malone to the VIA Board of Trustees to fill the board position vacated due to the resignation of Patricia Rodriguez.
ISSUE:
Board appointments require City Council approval.
ALTERNATIVES:
The Office of the City Clerk will continue to advertise the vacancies.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact.
RECOMMENDATION:
In order to proceed with the direction of the Governance Committee, the Office of the City Clerk recommends approval of said appointment to the VIA Metropolitan Transit Authority Board of Trustees.
