Contract Award: Gilbert Garza Park (2017 Bond Project)
SUMMARY:
An ordinance accepting the lowest responsive bid and awarding a construction contract in the amount of $287,554.80 to Straight Line Management, LLC for the Gilbert Garza Park Project, a 2017 Bond funded project, located in Council District 7.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Project Background
The approved 2017 Bond Program included $500,000.00 for Gilbert Garza Park improvements. Two separate public meetings were held in June 2018 and November 2018 to gather feedback for the Gilbert Garza Park project.
This project will provide for park improvements to include the installation of a pavilion with lighting and four associated tables and benches and the addition of a playground with safety surfacing, two benches, a shade canopy, security lighting, three concrete pads with tables and benches, trash receptacles, barbeque pits and a portable restroom enclosure. Construction is anticipated to begin in November 2019 and estimated to be completed by April 2020.
Procurement of Services
This project was advertised on June 28, 2019 for construction bids in the San Antonio Hart Beat, on the City's website, on the Texas Electronic State Business Daily, on TVSA, through the electronic bidding site CivCast and through the TCI small Business Office. Bids were opened on July 30, 2019 and five (5) bids were received. Of these, Straight Line Management, LLC submitted the lowest responsive bid. A matrix of the bid outcome is included herein.
