SUBJECT:

Routine Airport Maintenance Grant Program at Stinson Municipal Airport

SUMMARY:

City Council consideration authorizing $100,000.00 from the Stinson Revolving Fund of which the Texas Department of Transportation will reimburse the City up to $50,000.00 for a grant as part of the Routine Airport Maintenance Program (RAMP) for improvements at the Stinson Municipal Airport.

TXDOT does not require projects eligible for RAMP reimbursement to be identified prior to execution of the grant; however, the Aviation Department plans to purchase and install upgraded vehicle gates; purchase new runway and taxiway sign panels to replace faded signs; and to address general airport maintenance as funding applies.

ISSUE:

This action is consistent with City Council's policy of improving facilities at Stinson Municipal Airport and utilizing federal or state funding when available.

ALTERNATIVES:

City Council could elect not to approve the reimbursement of funds and the authorization for participation in the RAMP. However, participation in this program allows the City to utilize other funding sources for...
