Contract Award: Cedarhurst Drive Area (Dumont Drive to Eaglerock Drive) (2017 Bond Project)
SUMMARY:
An ordinance accepting the lowest responsive bid and awarding a construction contract to Pesado Construction Company in the amount of $5,150,164.35 of which $678,401.90 will be reimbursed by San Antonio Water System (SAWS) and $127,265.00 will be reimbursed by CPS Energy for the Cedarhurst Drive Area (Dumont Drive to Eaglerock Drive) Project, a 2017 Bond drainage funded project, located in Council District 4.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Project Background
On May 6, 2017, voters approved the 2017 Bond Program which authorized $9,170,000.00 for the Cedarhurst Drive Area (Dumont Drive to Eaglerock Drive) drainage project located in Council District 4.
The Cedarhurst Drive area has historically experienced drainage issues and flooding. In an effort to address these concerns, the Project will provide for the construction of an underground storm drain system along Cedarhurst Drive and for improvements to the existing drainage outfall allowing flood relief to neighborhood streets and properties. The project will also provide for the full-depth pavement reconstruction of Cedarhurst Drive to include curbs, sidewalks, driveway approaches and utility improvements as needed.
Project construction is anticipated to begin in December 2019 and estimated to be completed by June 2021.
Procurement of Services
This project was advertised August 2, 2019 for construction bids in the San Antonio Hart Beat, on the City's Texas Electronic State Business Daily, on TVSA, through the electronic bidding site CIVCAST website, on the and through the TCI Small Business Office. Bids were opened on September 3, 2019 and four (4) bids were received. Of these, Pesado Construction Company submitted the lowest responsive bid....
