Consideration of At-Large Appointments to the Planning Commission (5 Slots)

 

 

SUMMARY:

 

Mayor Nirenberg formed a Planning Commission Subcommittee to select a number of Planning Commission Applicants for interview. The Subcommittee selected and forwarded seven (7) applicants for interviews to be held by the Governance Committee.  Of the five (5) slots available; four (4) slots terms of office expire on October 6, 2021 and one (1) slot is to fill an unexpired term of office until October 6, 2020.  This is due to the resignation of Jennifer Ramos.  Three (3) applicants are seeking reappointment and were selected by the Planning Commission Subcommittee for interviews.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

 

Mayor Nirenberg formed a Planning Commission Subcommittee to select a number of Planning Commission Applicants for interview. ISSUE:

 

Board Appointments require full City Council approval.

 

 

ALTERNATIVE:

 

The Governance Committee could reject one or more of the applicants which would delay the Planning Commission from having all slots filled.

 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

 

There is no fiscal impact.

 

 

RECOMMENDATION:

 

The City Clerk recommends forwarding of the Governance Council Committee’s selection and submitted for full City Council approval on January 16, 2020.
