SUBJECT:

On-Call Water and Mold Remediation Services for the San Antonio Airport


SUMMARY:

City Council consideration of a professional services agreement with Alamo Environmental, Inc., dba Alamo 1 for on-call water and mold remediation services at the San Antonio Airport System in the amount of $300,000.00. The initial term of the agreement is three years with the option to extend for two, one-year periods.


BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The San Antonio Airport System requires consultants to perform all aspects of mold, sewer and water remediation to comply with regulations set forth by the Texas Commission for Environmental Quality, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and the Texas Department of State Health Services.

Consultants are needed to respond and perform on-call emergency environmental services related to activities involving mold abatement and water damage repair services within the Airport System's facilities and surrounding areas. Work performed under this contract may include cleanup and removal, loading, transportation, management and disposal of impacted liquid media from facilities in the airport system or any other City-owned properties. Other work may include recycling or disposing of construction debris, dehumidification, water extraction, santitizing and deodorizing, damage assessment, minor demolition of damaged building interior, restoration and minor reconstruction of damaged areas to a useable state. Additionally, other work may include the disposal of municipal solid waste, industrial waste and liquid wastes. The contractor will be required to generate, maintain and provide copies of waste manifests to the department when rendering disposal services.
