SUBJECT:

A resolution authorizing the submission of a grant application and authorizing the acceptance of funds, if awarded, from the Office of the Governor for the Safe Neighborhoods Program, CFDA No. 16.609, in an amount not to exceed $131,878.74 for 12 months beginning October 1, 2020.


SUMMARY:

This resolution authorizes the submission of a grant application by the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District (Metro Health) and authorizes the acceptance of funds, if awarded, from the Office of the Governor, in an amount not to exceed $131,878.74 for 12 months beginning October 1, 2020 to increase the capacity of the Stand Up SA program to establish meaningful, collaborative, and sustainable partnerships within targeted neighborhoods and educate the public regarding methodologies to reduce gun violence and recidivism.

The funds will be used to continue intensive case management services, including screening, assessments, and referrals to families with the highest needs such as those related to children and families experiencing trauma, exposure to violence and other at-risk factors impacting the well-being of children and families that were started in 2019 through the Safe Neighborhoods grant program award.

The above referenced request for funding will include a project narrative, problem statement, budget and budget narrative due February 27, 2020.
Furthermore, this resolution authorizes the Director of Metro Health to initiate, negotiate, and execute any and all necessary documents and a grant contract to effectuate the acceptance of the referenced grant, and to execute contract amendments pertaining to this contract, to include a) carry-over funds, when ascertained and approved by the funding agency through a revised notice of award; b) line item budget revisions authorized by the funding agency; c) modifications to the performance measures authorized by the...
