SUMMARY:

Director to report updates on Neighborhood and Housing Services Department Programs.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

Each month the director prepares a report on program updates directly affecting the Commission and its charge.

ISSUE:
Topics to be discussed are (a) Strategic Housing Policy Implementation Plan; (b) Follow-up Questions; (c) San Antonio Housing Trust Assessment; (d) San Antonio Housing Summit; (e) San Antonio Housing Authority; (f) Chief Housing Officer; (g) Upcoming Meetings
a) Strategic Housing Implementation Plan
The Strategic Housing Implementation Plan is an effort to adopt shared housing unit production and preservation goals across the city and partner agencies. These agencies include SAHA, the SAN Antonio Housing Trust, and others. Staff will update on status of implementation plan, including the ongoing recalibration of housing goals.
b) Follow-up Questions
During the January 22 meeting, Commissioners asked for two items to be addressed at a future meeting, and two questions.
c) San Antonio Housing Trust
Staff will update Commission on the status of the Housing Trust.
d) San Antonio Housing Summit
The 2020 San Antonio Housing Summit will be hosted on May 12, 2020. The event will be a half day pushed further into the evening to accommodate members of the public. The event will be closed out with a student charrette featuring youth from San Antonio ISD and SARAH's Youth Homelessness Group will participate. The tracts are broken down into committees to create 3 workshops each, while one room will be concentrated on technical assistance for public and agencies.
