SUBJECT:                     Consideration of High Profile Solicitation for Release

The following high profile solicitation is scheduled to be released within the next month.

 

District 9 Senior Center - The Public Works Department will issue a Request for Competitive Sealed Proposals for the District 9 Senior Center, a 2017 Bond Project approved by the voters on May 6, 2017.  The project is located at 840 W. Rhapsody Drive, adjacent to Walker Ranch Park. The new 26,300 square foot facility, managed by the Department of Human Services, will consist of a satellite Council Office, multi-purpose rooms, classrooms for arts, crafts and computers, dining room, warming kitchen, exercise and dance facilities, meeting rooms, staff offices and a health screening and lounge areas.  The site improvements outside will include parking for approximately 260 vehicles, of which 38 will be ADA accessible, and up to 10 electric vehicle charging spaces, sidewalks, access drives, turning lanes and vehicular drop off areas, landscaping, and outdoor activity spaces.
