SUBJECT:

Civil Engineering Design Services Agreement Amendment: Downtown Streets Reconstruction: Commerce Street (St. Mary's Street to Santa Rosa Street) (2017 Bond Project)


SUMMARY:

An ordinance approving the execution of an amendment in an increased amount not to exceed $209,554.50 to the $1,537,970.34 Civil Engineering Design Services Agreement with CP&Y, Inc. for additional design services in relation to the Downtown Streets Reconstruction: Commerce Street (St. Mary's Street to Santa Rosa Street) Project, a previously authorized debt and 2017 Bond funded project, located in Council District 1. Funds are available from previously authorized debt and 2017 General Obligation Bond funds and are included in FY 2020 - FY 2025 Capital Improvement Program.


BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

Project Background
The Downtown Streets Reconstruction: Commerce Street (St. Mary's Street to Santa Rosa Street) is a previously authorized debt and 2017 Bond funded project. This project will provide for the full reconstruction of Commerce Street from St. Mary's Street to Santa Rosa Street, including wayfinding signage, pedestrian amenities and streetscape improvements as appropriate and within available funding.

Previous Council Action
On October 11, 2012, City Council approved a Civil Engineering Design Services Agreement with CP&Y Inc. in the amount of $812,845.07 for the design and construction phase services for the Downtown Streets Reconstruction: Commerce Street (Street Mary's Street to Santa Rosa Street) project through Ordinance 2012-10-11-0794. Amendments have increased this contract by $725,125.27 to a total of $1,537,970.34. The proposed amendment will increase the contract by $209,554.50 to a total contract amount of $1,747,524.84.
