SUMMARY:
This item authorizes approval of the proposed process for reviewing and approving external partnership requests received by Pre-K 4 SA.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Since 2013, Pre-K 4 SA has received a limited number of requests to formally partner with external organizations. As the program has matured, its success has been well documented. Because of this, staff anticipates an increase in requests for formal partnerships. As such, staff set out to develop a formal process to review and approve such requests.
ISSUE:
This item includes a briefing of the proposed process for reviewing and approving external partnership requests received by Pre-K 4 SA. This process will include input and participation from the Pre-K 4 SA Partnership Review Board (PRB), Pre-K 4 SA CEO, and representatives of the Board of Directors. The Pre-K 4 SA Partnership Review Board is comprised of the Chief Communications Officer, the Director of Professional Learning and Innovation, and a Center Director, and is chaired by the Partnership Application Coordinator (Assistant to the CEO). It is the role and responsibility of Pre-K 4 SA Partnership Review Board to review the proposal and meet with the partner organization to determine whether the partnership is appropriate and whether Pre-K 4 SA can reasonably accommodate the request. The Partnership Review Board will issue a summary and recommendation to the Pre-K 4 SA CEO. If the CEO supports the partnership request, the Partnership Application Coordinator will provide a summary of the partnership and recommendation to the Board Panel.
