SUBJECT:                      FY 2020 Annual Audit Plan Status

Like other departments within the City, we too were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

During the City’s response, we deployed 8 of our staff members to other departments to assist in the response. This included staff assigned to Police, Finance, and the City Manager’s Office. At this time, 4 staff remain deployed assisting in the Finance Department. We also added audits related to the City Recovery and Resiliency Plan that were not on the original plan. This included audits of the Housing Assistance program and the Small Business Support program.

 

We also had 2 staff vacancies for most of the year. Finding and hiring qualified audit staff continues to prove difficult in the San Antonio market.

 

This has caused delays in the completion of our 2020 Audit Plan. Some of the audits will roll into the 2021 Plan and others will be postponed as priorities have shifted. However, the majority of the audits on the plan will continue but not completed until well into the 2021 fiscal year.

 

The attached table details the current status and proposed plan for individual audits.
