SUBJECT: Post-Solicitation Briefing for the District 9 Senior Center

The Public Works Department will present a post-solicitation briefing on the procurement process for the District 9 Senior Center, a 2017 Bond Program project approved by voters on May 6, 2017.
The project is located at 840 W. Rhapsody Dr., adjacent to the south entrance to Walker Ranch Park. The new 26,330 square foot facility will consist of a satellite Council Office, multi-purpose rooms, classrooms for arts, crafts and computers, dining room, warming kitchen, exercise and dance facilities, meeting rooms, staff offices and health screening and lounge areas. The site improvements outside will include parking for approximately 260 vehicles of which 38 will be ADA accessible and up to 10 electric vehicle charging spaces, sidewalks, access drives, turning lanes and vehicular drop off areas, low impact design features, landscaping, and outdoor activity spaces.

The project was solicited as a Request for Competitive Sealed Proposal on April 29, 2020 and proposals were due on June 19, 2020. A total of ten firms submitted proposals in response to this solicitation; however, six responses were deemed non-responsive for not meeting the SBEDA subcontracting requirements.
