SUMMARY:
Director to report updates on Neighborhood and Housing Services Department Programs
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Each month the Director prepares a report on program updates directly affecting the Commission and its charge.
ISSUE:
Topics to be discussed are: (a) Staff Responses to Questions from Previous Meeting; (b) Strategic Housing Implementation Plan (SHIP) Timeline Update; (c) ForEveryoneHome Update; (d) Upcoming Meetings
a) Staff Responses to Questions from Previous Meeting
During the December 2nd meeting, Commissioners asked for seven (7) items to be addressed at a future meeting, and 15 statements from Public Comments.
b) Strategic Housing Implementation Plan (SHIP) Timeline Update
Staff scheduled an update on the Strategic Housing Implementation Plan to the Planning & Land Development Committee (PLDC) of City Council on February 8th. Since the last update given to the Committee in November, the SHIP Steering Committee has met with staff from the Department of Human Services to discuss connections between the Homeless Strategic Plan and the SHIP. Staff circulated a survey among SHIP participants to identify priority items of focus for the coming months.
c) ForEveryoneHome Update
Staff scheduled an update on the ForEveryoneHome Initiative to the Planning & Land Development Committee on February 8th. ForEveryoneHome team members presented the Real Estate & Development Committee of the SAHA Board of Directors on January 21st and will brief the Housing Commission on the initiative's draft Anti-Displacement Agenda at the February 24th meeting.
d) Upcoming Meetings
The next regular meeting will be held on February 24, 2021. Possible retreat in March.
