SUBJECT: A briefing providing updates on the community-wide COVID-19 vaccination efforts.
SUMMARY:
San Antonio’s COVID-19 Mass Vaccination Hub providers will share updates on the community-wide vaccination efforts.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Beginning in January, Texas established large vaccination sites or hubs around the state. The goal of these hubs is to provide more people the vaccine in a coordinated community-wide effort.
Metro Health, University Health, UT Health and two Well Med clinics are mass vaccination hubs in Bexar County. Since January 2021, in accordance with the Texas Department of State Health Services’ guidance, each of these agencies have been involved in COVID-19 vaccine administrations to the eligible critical population groups. This briefing will provide an update on each individual hub’s registration process, the weekly appointment allocations and a summary of the vaccination efforts including the number of vaccines administered, the geographic distribution of the residents including selected demographic characteristics receiving vaccines at each of these hubs.

Kurian, MBBS, MPH, DrPH, Assistant Director, Metro Health and Mr. Bryan Norris, Assistant Chief, Executive Officer of Emergency Services, San Antonio Fire Department.
