Transportation Department Overview
SUMMARY:
The Transportation Department will provide a briefing to the City Council’s Transportation & Mobility Committee on the new department’s programs and priorities.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
In 2020 the City Council approved the creation of the new Department of Transportation to focus on implementing transportation planning effort to support multi-modal improvements of public transit service and enhanced bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure throughout the City. The Department will focus on building relationships with internal and external partners such as VIA Metropolitan Transit and the Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization to implement strategies associated with ConnectSA and SA Tomorrow short and long-range plans.
