SUBJECT:                     Consideration of Completed High-Profile Solicitation

The following high-profile project has completed the solicitation process. This item is presented to the Audit and Accountability committee for review prior to the full City Council for consideration. 

Architectural Services for Alamodome Improvements - Department solicited a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for design services work related to the Architectural Services for Alamodome Improvements project.  This project will provide for 14 new club-level suites, 4 new mezzanine-level suites, and renovations at 5th floor level concession and circulation areas with similar enhancements as previously completed in the east and west sides of the Plaza Level at the Alamodome. The intent is to select one architectural firm for design and construction administration services, to include architecture, structural engineering, and mechanical/plumbing and electrical design. Design services are expected to include basic programming consideration, production of construction drawings and specifications, assessments of probable cost, permitting coordination, bid phase services, construction administration, project closeout, and other duties as typically provided by standard architectural and engineering practices.

Due diligence conducted for the respondents to the above solicitation included a search of federal and state debarment lists, prohibited political contributions, conflicts of interest, delinquent City/County taxes, outstanding payments to the City, payment of state franchise fees as well as a search of the internet for pertinent business information. No material findings were noted that would prevent the City from awarding to the selected vendor.

 

Staff recommends committee approval to proceed with scheduling this item for full City Council consideration.
