SUBJECT:

Appointments to the Small Business Advisory Commission 

 

 

SUMMARY:

Appointments to the Small Business Advisory Commission with a term of office to expire May 31, 2023. [Tina J. Flores, City Clerk]

 

A) Small business owner with less than 10 employees: Juanita Sepulveda (District 4); Kaitlin Sirakos (District 7); and James Hollerbach (District 10); and

 

B) Small business owner with 10-50 employees: Sarah Shakil (District 8); and Julissa Carielo (Mayor)

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

Applications for appointments to the commission were submitted to the Office of the City Clerk who coordinated review of the applications with the pertinent City Department and the City Attorney’s Office. The applications of qualified applicants were forwarded to the respective Council Office for review. A memorandum designating an appointee was submitted to the Office of the City Clerk for processing.

 

ISSUE:

Board Appointments require full City Council approval.

 

ALTERNATIVES:

The Office of the City Clerk will continue to promote vacancies.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no fiscal impact.

 

RECOMMENDATION:

In order to proceed with the direction of the City Council, the Office of the City Clerk recommends approval of the appointments.
