This ordinance authorizes a contract with Progressive Emergency Products for three trailer mounted generators for the San Antonio Metro Health District for a total cost of $118,714.68. Funding is available from the Center for Disease Control Mass Vaccination Grant.


BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

Submitted for Council consideration and ratification is a contract with Progressive Emergency Products for the purchase of three trailer mounted generators for the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District. These units are sixty-five horsepower diesel powered three phase generators mounted on single axle trailers for easy transport. The trailer mounted generators were delivered April 8, 2021 and are being utilized by the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District to support the City of San Antonio mass COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic located at the Alamodome and will be redirected to the Mobile Unit Vaccination Program in targeted neighborhoods in the future.

The trailer mounted generators will support the continuity of operations for the mass COVID-19 vaccination distribution site and parking lot drive-through operations that are supported by generator power and supply electrical power for the vaccine freezers, lighting, air-conditioning and other electrical needs.

This contract was procured on the basis of an exemption to preserve or protect the public health or safety of the City's residents.
