BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

Each month the Director prepares a report on program updates directly affecting the Commission and its charge.

ISSUE:
Topics to be discussed are: (a) Follow up Answers to Questions Asked During Commission Meeting on May 26, 2021; (b) Strategic Housing Implementation Plan/ ForEveryoneHome Update; (c) FY 2022 City Budget Process Update; (d) FY 2022-2026 HUD Consolidated Plan & FY 2022 Action Plan Public Hearing; (e) Additional Housing Funding; (f) Bond Update; (g) Chief Housing Officer Update; (h) Subcommittee Update; (i) Upcoming Meetings

a) Follow up Answers to Questions Asked During Commission Meeting on May 26, 2021

During the May 26, 2021 meeting, Commissioners asked five (5) questions. Staff responses to those questions are attached.

b) Strategic Housing Implementation Plan/ ForEveryoneHome Update

Work on both the Strategic Housing Implementation Plan (SHIP) and ForEveryoneHome initiative continued through June. Two of the 34 recommendations were selected be fully developed by Grounded Solutions Network into implementation plans. The two items selected were items 2A: Develop a Housing Preservation Network to track government subsidized and unregulated low cot apartments and to develop strategies to preserve that affordable housing and 5A: Cease public support to market-rate development that displaces residents. Over the next few months Grounded Solutions Network will develop the implementation plans for incorporation into the Strategic Housing Implementation Plan (SHIP) along with other items from Growing Together- the ForEveryoneHome anti-displacement agenda
