ADDR-SNC-21-12700001 Street Name Change of Quantum Loop to Quantum Drive

 

SUMMARY:

 

Street Name Change Case ADDR-SNC-21-12700001: A request by Development Services Department for approval of a resolution to change Quantum Loop to Quantum Drive, generally located between Juno Landing and Southwest Loop 410 Access Road.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The street name change request is being submitted by the Director of Development Services to correct a duplicate street name.

 

Analysis and Notification Process:

 

This street name change was processed in accordance with Chapter 6 Section 672(d)(2) of the City Code that states although choices for names are unlimited, names may be selected to eliminate duplication of names.

 

This Street Name Change would require zero (0) address changes.

 

The segment consists of approximately eight hundred and ten (810) linear feet and two (2) ground mounted signs.

 

Inter-departmental Technical Review:

All City Departments reviewed the proposed request in accordance with Chapter 6 Section 675 of the City Code. The technical review included:

 

                     All City Departments

                     Alamo Regional Mobility Authority

                     Bexar County

                     Bexar Metro 9-1-1 Network

                     CPS Energy

                     Development Services

                     Office of Historic Preservation

                     San Antonio Water System (“SAWS”)

                     Southwest ISD

                     Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT)

                     Transportation & Capital Improvement

                     United States Postal Service (USPS)

                     VIA Metropolitan Transit

 

Development Services Department received no concerns from any reviewing agency. In addition, the United States Postal Service approved the proposed street name change on February 19, 2021, in accordance with Chapter 6 Section 675 of the City Code and Chapter 35 Section 506(h) of the Unified Development Code (“UDC”).

 

Virtual Community Meeting Date: June 15, 2021

 

-                     2 Notices mailed to property owners abutting the segment of the street proposed street name change.

 

-                     1 notice mailed to People Active in Community Effort neighborhood association

 

-                     0 members of the community attended the public meeting.

ISSUES:

 

None.

 

ALTERNATIVES:

 

Denial of this request will result in the street remaining as Quantum Loop.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

 

The anticipated costs for the project totals $1744.86. This includes an application fee of $1,000.00, notification fee of $13.50.  All costs have been paid by applicant. 

 

RECOMMENDATION:

 

This proposed street name change meets the criteria of Chapter 6 Section 672(d)(2) of the City Code. Staff recommends Approval.
