ADDR-SNC-21-12700002 Street Name Change of Lyster Road to Global Way
SUMMARY:
Street Name Change Case ADDR-SNC-21-12700002: A request by Brooks Development Authority for approval of a resolution to change Lyster Road to Global Way, generally located between Sous Vide Way and Goliad Road within Council District 3.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Brooks Development Authority has submitted this application to rename Lyster Road to Global Way to reflect the multiple, new businesses from around the world, and with a global impact, that have located in the SE corner of Brooks.
Analysis and Notification Process:
This street name change was processed in accordance with Chapter 6 Section 672(d)(8) of the City Code that states although choices for names are unlimited, names may be selected to provide for better wayfinding.
This Street Name Change would require two (2) address changes.
The segment consists of approximately 1,741 linear feet, two (2) overhead signs, and two (2) ground mounted signs.
Inter-departmental Technical Review:
All City Departments reviewed the proposed request in accordance with Chapter 6 Section 675 of the City Code. The technical review included:

Development Services Department received no concerns from any reviewing agency. In addition, the United States Postal Service approved the proposed street name change on March 29, 2021, in accordance with Chapter 6 Section 675 of the City Code and Chapter 35 Section 506(h) of the Unified Development Code ("UDC").
