Start Early Amendment
SUMMARY:
This item requests Board action to authorize an amendment to the Professional Services Agreement with Start Early to increase the contract value by $40,000.00, bringing the total to an amount not to exceed $85,000.00, and extend the term of the contract to June 30, 2022.[RAG(4S1]
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
On December 15, 2020, Pre-K 4 SA entered into an agreement with Start Early to provide Professional Development Services in the amount of $45,000.00. The consultant [RAG(4S2]worked with Pre-K 4 SA staff to implement the Early Education Essentials Survey Measurement System with up to six (6) schools, including four (4) education centers comprised of up to 25 preschool classrooms and two (2) elementary schools spanning grades Pre-K through 2nd grade. The current agreement expired on June 30, 2021 however Pre-K 4 SA wishes to continue services and amend the contract to increase the contract amount to $85,000.00 and extend the contract term to June 30, 2022.
ISSUE:
Pre-K 4 SA staff requests Board consideration to authorize an amendment to the Professional Services Agreement with Start Early to increase the contract amount by $40,000.00 to a new contract amount not to exceed $85,000.00 and extend the term of the contract to June 30, 2022.[RAG(4S3]
ALTERNATIVES:
Should this contract not be approved, Pre-K 4 SA would be unable to continue to utilize the Early Education Essentials Survey Management System.[RAG(4S4]
FISCAL IMPACT:
This item approves amending the Professional Services Agreement with Start Early to increase the contract value by $40,000.00, bringing the total to an amount not to exceed $85,000.00, and extend the term of the contract to June 30, 2022.[RAG(4S5]
Funding for this agreement is available in the FY 2022 Pre-K 4 SA Operating Budget.
