SUMMARY:
Director to report updates on Neighborhood and Housing Services Department Programs
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Each month the Director prepares a report on program updates directly affecting the Commission and its charge.
ISSUE:
Topics to be discussed are: (a) Staff Responses to Questions from Previous Meeting; (b) Housing related weather response; (c) COVID-19 Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP) Update; (d) Upcoming Meetings
a) Staff Responses to Questions from Previous Meeting
During the January 27 meeting, Commissioners asked for nine (9) items to be addressed at a future meeting. Staff responses are included in this packet.
b) Housing related weather response
Opportunity for staff to update city response to the weather issues from week of February 14 and address Commission questions.
c) COVID-19 Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP) Update
On February 18, 2021, City Council approved EHAP programmatic changes and accepted additional federal funding from the US Treasury that was part of the Congressional relief bill approved and signed on December 27, 2020. Staff will provide an update. Briefing presentation is included in this packet.
d) Upcoming Meetings
The next regular meeting will be held on March 24, 2021. The Annual Retreat is scheduled for April 7, 2021.
