SUMMARY:

This ordinance authorizes acceptance of a contract with Altec Industries, Inc. to provide the Building and Equipment Services, Parks and Recreation and Public Works Departments with four Aerial Lift Devices for a total cost of $476,234.00. Funding is available from the FY 2021 Equipment Renewal and Replacement Fund (ERRF) budget in the amount of $245,312.00 and the FY 2022 ERRF in the amount of $230,922.00, contingent upon City Council appropriation.

Submitted for City Council consideration and action is the attached offer from Altec Industrial, Inc. to provide Aerial Lift Devices with up to a 40-foot working height capability, as planned replacements for two units in FY 2021 and two units in FY 2022. The contract will provide four replacement aerial devices that will consist of two aerial devices with custom storage and two aerial devices with standard utility bodies. There are currently twenty-nine aerial lift devices in the City's fleet.

These units will be purchased from Altec Industries, Inc. utilizing the Source well contract #012418-ALT and will be made in accordance with the National Joint Powers Alliance cooperative program passed on Ordinance 2009-02-12-0102, dated February 12, 2009. Contracts awarded through this Purchasing Cooperative are competitive and meet all bidding requirements.
