SUMMARY:
An ordinance for the 36th Street Phase IIIB - (Billy Mitchell to General Hudnell) Project, a 2012 General Obligation Bond and $1,745,608.80 federally funded project from TxDOT, located in Council District 4, awarding a construction contract in the amount of $8,078,660.90 to Shannon Monk of which $1,093,954.00 will be reimbursed by San Antonio Water Systems (SAWS), and $148,464.50 will be reimbursed by CPS Energy and reallocating $1,044,151.00 in 2007-2012 General Obligation Street Bond Savings to this project.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Project Background
The 2012 General Obligation Bond authorized $6,000,000.00 for the 36th Street Phase IIIB - (Billy Mitchell to General Hudnell ) Project. The 36th Street Phase IIIB - (Billy Mitchell to General Hudnell) Project provides the reconstruction of the roadway, sidewalks, curbs, a shared use path and a drainage channel from Billy Mitchell to General Hudnell. The existing roadway is a two lane roadway with curbs and the proposed roadway will consist of a four lane roadway with a concrete median, including sidewalks and a shared use path. The drainage channel will be adjacent to the roadway. Construction is scheduled to begin in July 2015 and scheduled to conclude in September 2016.
Previous Council Action
On March 21, 2013, Council approved the Advanced Funding Agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation for the 36th St Phase IIIB (Billy Mitchell to General Hudnell) Project through Ordinance 2013-03-21-0172.
