SUBJECT:

Security Camera Upgrade and Parking Area Surveillance Projects at the San Antonio International Airport.


SUMMARY:

This Ordinance authorizes a contract with Presidio Networked Solutions, LLC for the purchase and installation of security cameras at the San Antonio International Airport. As part of the Security Camera Upgrade project, 71 digital cameras and the supporting infrastructure will be installed. In the Long Term Parking Garage, 82 digital cameras and the supporting infrastructure will be installed as well as 11 emergency call boxes. The total contract value is $1,938,801.79 of which $655,118.00 expected to be reimbursed by a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) grant. This Council action will appropriate $1,127,159.00 from the Airport Capital Budget.


BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The CITY of San Antonio is in the process of modernizing San Antonio International Airport to meet its current and future demands. The new equipment will improve the safety for both the traveling public as well as patrons utilizing the parking facilities at the airport.

Security Camera Upgrades
This project consists of the replacement of existing analog cameras, provision and complete install of 71 new IP-based cameras, upgrade of the existing video management system (VMS) and upgrade of the existing video storage array. This work includes the install of new cabling infrastructure as required to support the cameras. The contractor will also install equipment furnished by ITSD. A portion of this project is part of a Transportation Security Administration grant and will be eligible for reimbursement.
