SUBJECT:

Briefing on the second meeting of the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Group and enhanced community engagement for SA Tomorrow.


SUMMARY:

The Comprehensive Plan Advisory Group (CPAG) will meet for the second time on Wednesday, December 16, 2015. This briefing will provide an overview of the meeting's agenda as well as an update on efforts being made to further enhance the community engagement component of SA Tomorrow.


BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The Comprehensive Plan Advisory Group (CPAG) is a stakeholder group representing government, community and non-profit entities that have significant interest in the prosperity of San Antonio to serve as a platform for the exchange of information and alignment of existing and future planning efforts. The City of San Antonio will continue to engage the CPAG after the adoption of the Comprehensive Plan.

The first meeting took place on January 13, 2015, where group was asked to assign or make available technical staff to assist with Plan Element Working Groups, engage their constituencies and workforces in the planning process, and lend institutional resources to the comprehensive planning process and openly provide their organization's long-term plans for synchronization with the Comprehensive Plan. Members were asked to provide data relevant to the Comprehensive Planning process and support public outreach and the dissemination of information to audiences that may be difficult for city staff to access.
