Contract Award: (Change Order) Lady Bird Johnson Park
SUMMARY:
An ordinance for the Lady Bird Johnson Park Project, authorizing a change order in the amount of $375,000.00, to Crownhill Builders, Inc., to install a new playground at Lady Bird Johnson Park, 2012-2017 Bond-funded project located in Council District 10.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Project Background
The 2012-2017 Bond Program appropriated $1,600,000.00 for park improvements at Lady Bird Johnson Park. The initial project scope provided for: entry improvements, lighting, parking improvements, new parking at the pavilion, a walkway, and directional signage. The three additive alternates, identified as part of this contract, allowed for: an additional shade canopy over the pool, replacement of existing shade fabric at the pool area, and installation of a dog park. Project construction began February 2015, and is estimated to be completed by October 2016.
Previous Council Action
On January 29, 2015 City Council approved, through Ordinance 2015-01-29-0057, an ordinance authorizing the execution of a construction contract that included three additive alternates, in the amount of $826,835.00, to Crownhill Builders, Inc., for construction of the Lady Bird Johnson Park improvements project, 2012-2017 Bond-funded project, located in Council District 10.
This change order will increase the contract by $375,000.00, to a total contract amount of $1,223,934.27.
