SUBJECT:

Alamodome Marquee Improvement

SUMMARY:

This ordinance authorizes acceptance of a contract with Daktronics, Inc. to provide all labor, material and equipment to install two (2) Outdoor Daktronics LED Video Displays at the Alamodome for the Convention and Sports Facilities Department for a total cost of $545,780.00, and appropriates funds in the amount of $545,780.00 from the Hotel Occupancy Tax Redemption & Capital Reserve Fund.

The Alamodome marquee improvements will also better enable the Alamodome to competitively bid on future NCAA and college football opportunities such as the College Football National Championship and distinguish the Alamodome from other comparable stadiums. Furthermore, the video boards and ribbon boards installed inside the stadium during the renovation are also Daktronics boards making it easier for staff to operate and maintain the equipment.

Daktronics will remove and dispose of existing equipment, provide site clean-up, lift, unload and inspect all message center equipment and control ...
