SUMMARY:

This ordinance authorizes acceptance of the offer from Kent Powersports to provide four replacement Law Enforcement Light Utility Vehicles for a total cost of $111,847.64. Funding for this purchase is available from the FY 2018 Equipment Renewal and Replacement Fund (ERRF) Budget.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

Submitted for City Council consideration and action is offer submitted by Kent Powersports to provide four replacement 2018 Polaris Ranger 1000 XP HVAC Law Enforcement Light Utility Vehicles for a total cost of $111,847.64. These vehicles will be used for large scale traffic events such as parades and marches and can escort buses and equipment to staging areas where full size vehicles cannot travel. They can also be deployed during critical incidents to travel into areas not accessible by other police vehicles.
